Annual truffle fair

Truffles have always been coveted and sought after, and today they are so rare that church ceremonies are held in their honour in France. We are aware of the value of our natural wealth, so we organize a truffle fair every year in honour of the Istrian “culinary diamond”.

Zigante Truffle Days take place in the village of Livade, in the heart of the Mirna river valley and near the Motovun forest, which is famous for its truffles, and last for ten weekends – every Saturday and Sunday from late September to early November. The fair is an ideal opportunity to get to know Istrian truffles as well as many other first-class indigenous Istrian products.

At the Zigante Truffle Days, you can look forward to:

• A diverse exhibition of white and black fresh truffles and more than 50 different Zigante truffle products. At the exhibition you can try and buy many delicacies with truffles.
• Promotion of autochthonous Istrian products such as prosciutto, cheese, olive oil, honey and spirits from the best local producers. All products are available at promotional prices.
• international wine exhibition, which is attended by many winemakers from all over Croatia as well as from neighboring countries. You can try and buy all the best wines at promotional prices.
• An unforgettable truffle hunt in the Motovun forest. During the ride on the tourist train “along the truffle path”, the guide will acquaint the guests with the cultivation of truffles in Istria. Upon arrival in the forest, the guests will embark on an unforgettable experience of hunting for truffles with a licensed truffle expert and his tracker dogs.
• An exciting culinary show in which many domestic and foreign master chefs prepare their favourite truffle dishes, which you can also try.
