The truffle that put Istria on the map
On 2 November 1999, founder Giancarlo Zigante unearthed a white truffle weighing 1.31 kg in the Motovun forest, recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest white truffle ever found at the time.
Instead of selling it, he shared it with his community.
From there, he built Zigante Tartufi into Istria’s leading truffle house, with shops across Istria, a restaurant in Livade, and exports worldwide.
